Canon n D major & My Sassy Girl
hmm.. done some research on canon in D major by Johann Pachelbel which is one of my fav musical piece.. the 1st time i heard this music was in a movie which is also one of my fav movies, My Sassy Girl.. i think the show was very good, i've watch it like 5 to 6 times, in the cinema and on vcd.. i think canon in D music was fit prefectly in the show..
canon in D major done by Johann Pachelbel who was a german. Johann Pachelbel was one of the great organist-composers of his day, a man who could count Bach's teacher among his pupils. His life was tinged with tragedy and hardship - his first wife died with her baby son in the plague of 1683, and he had to flee from the French invasion of Stuttgart in 1692 - but he settled in Nuremberg and his second marriage produced seven children, two of whom became musicians, one an instrument maker and one a painter. His church music is highly regarded and innovative in the way it links the pitches of the notes to meaning - steadfast faith denoted by repeated notes, for example. His lilting Canon in D is a throwaway little piece by comparison to his big sacred works, but its charming grace has made it a favourite filler of compilation CDs. The canon in D major was written in or around 1680.
Pachelbel was born in Nuremberg in August 1653 and died there on March 6th, 1706
hmmm.. this music is done so long ago.. around 1680.. whao.. 2005-1680=325 years ago.. *eyes wide open* and after 325 years the song was still so popular.. i think this song is very gentle and when i hear it, it give me a very comfortable feeling.. =) i found many verison of canon in D on the net and i think the one that is playing now is the best, you can find many versions of it; strings, vocal, piano and even guitar. my fav is piano version, which is e one that i'm plaing rite now.. how about u? keke
